ETH Earth Sciences again best in the world
ETH Zurich remains the best place in the world to study earth sciences, according to this year's ranking.
Earth sciences were again ranked number one for earth and marine sciences in front of Harvard University and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). The results were recently published by the QS World University Rankings. Second and third place are taken by Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) and Harvard University.
ETH's Earth Sciences faculty received the highest rating in the category “Academic reputation”.
QS World University Rankings
The QS World University Rankings are one of several tools used to compare universities around the globe. ETH Zurich performs consistently well in these rankings, and is typically the best-placed university in continental Europe. According to the overall QS World University Rankings 2019, ETH achieved 7th place worldwide. The QS Rankings are based on various weighted indicators. These include, for example, the frequency with which published research is cited in other research publications, as well as a reputation-based survey of some 90,000 academics and employers worldwide.
