CV
Andrea Zunino is a senior researcher in the Seismology and Wave Physics group at ETH Zurich.
His focus is on developing methodologies to infer properties of the subsurface of the Earth from indirect measurements (e.g., seismic waves). Main research interests concern inverse problems, seismology and computational geoscience. Particular emphasis is on the probabilistic approach to address non-linear inverse problems, such as Monte Carlo methods.
Before arriving at ETH Zurich, Andrea has spent several years working together with Klaus Mosegaard (NBI, Denmark) on probabilistic inverse problems and geostatistics. Currently he is working on ambient noise seismic tomography and the development of Hamiltonian Monte Carlo strategies for various geophysical problems.
