Krystyna Smolinski
Student / Programme Doctorate at D-EAPS
Krystyna is a doctoral student in the Seismology and Wave Physics group at ETH Zurich.
Krystyna completed her Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Earth Sciences at the University of Cambridge, with a focus on Seismology and Geophysics. During her Master’s project, she worked under the supervision of Dr. Sanne Cottaar, using diffracted phases to determine velocity gradients across the boundaries of LLSVPs (Large Low Shear Velocity Provinces).
She will be working on testing the capabilities of distributed acoustic sensing in a range of environments, and exploring how fiber optic networks beneath cities may be used for seismic observations.
