Ariane Lanteri
Student / Programme Doctorate at D-EAPS
Ariane is a doctoral student in the Seismology and Wave Physics group at ETH Zurich. Her interests are focused on inverse theory and seismic tomography.
At Institut de Physique du Globe de Paris (IPGP), she obtained her bachelor’s degree in Earth Sciences in 2019 and her Master’s degree in Geophysics in 2021. Ariane first joined the Seismology and Wave Physics group in 2020 to work with Prof. Andreas Fichtner on seismic Full Waveform Inversion of Greenland. Then she wrote her master thesis about Hamiltonian Monte Carlo inversion applied to surface wave dispersion, under supervision of Prof. Andreas Fichtner, Lars Gebraad and Andrea Zunino.
Her research focuses on producing Full Waveform Inversion models of high seismic hazard regions at a small scale resolution, in order to predict earthquake-induced ground motion and assess seismic risk.
