Structure of the Bachelor
The Bachelor's degree in Earth and Climate Sciences takes three years and includes theory, analysis and methodology, experiments and fieldwork. Students are working in small groups and explore current topics in the earth and climate sciences and related issues with the guidance of lecturers and professors.
The first two years focus on the fundamentals in mathematics and natural sciences as well as the basics in Earth and Climate Sciences. Students start to specialise and prepare themselves for their graduate studies with the choice of a major in the third year.
The two majors
Early planning of the third year of studies in collaboration with a subject advisor is recommended. The third year offers two majors of choice:
Each major gives an insight view on a selected topic within the Earth and Climate Sciences and prepares students to carry out their first scientific work.
